Bloody Clean works actively in the sink with:
- Surfactant plant-based ingredients
- Probiotics that help break down odor
- Gentle formulation without enzymes
The result is clean and fresh panties – without compromising their function.
A little more nerdy:
We are surrounded by both good and bad bacteria.
Pro-biotics means "for life" and are the opposite of antibiotics (which you know from medicine; they kill bacteria). But instead of killing the bacteria, we can work with pro-biotics that love dirt and grime, and that grow big quickly, thereby taking over the space from the bad bacteria.
That's called competitive inhibition.
We are surrounded by and filled with both good and bad bacteria. Bad bacteria, for example, cause unpleasant odors.

The process is called competitive inhibition.
There are many different strains of beneficial bacteria. Byoms uses a bacillus strain, which is a robust beneficial bacteria that can survive in a dormant state in the "harsh" environment of detergents.
Ingredients: 15-30% plant-based anionic surfactants, <5% soaps, zinc ricinoleate, zinc lactate, microorganisms.
98.7% of the ingredients are of natural origin.
Bloody Clean is Allergy Certified.
Byoms was founded by Rikke Stein Omby and Anja Byrial Hansen in 2019. They develop concepts in Denmark and produce at their own factory in Lithuania. You can read more about Byoms here. here.
Bloody Clean is a special detergent developed especially for us and for the purpose of removing any bad odor from menstrual panties.
The smell can arise for several reasons:
- Poor hygiene - remember to change your panties frequently, just like your pad.
- Hormonal changes - this can lead to increased discharge during your menstruation, which can have a distinct odor.
- Menstrual blood itself - your menstrual blood consists not only of blood but also of uterine lining, among other things. When menstrual blood comes into contact with oxygen, it begins to break down, producing an odor.
- The smell occurs with a less thorough rinsing and washing routine."
Wash your menstrual panties in cold water after use - until the water runs clear.
Air-dry the panties inside out if you don't need to wash them.
When you're ready to wash, add Bloody Clean to the soap compartment. You'll need 2 tablespoons/20 ml for a full load. You can wash your other clothes together.
Bloody Clean is super concentrated, so avoid overdosing, as it may compromise the wash quality.
Wash at 40 degrees and hang to air dry.
The bottle, label, and cap are all made from 100% recycled plastic. Remember to recycle the bottle as plastic after use.
Bloody Clean is transported by car rather than by plane or ship to minimize CO2 emissions.
