"For 25 years, my period has been the epicenter of my life."
Meet Cathrine, founder of Flow Intimates
Flow Intimates was founded so you can feel free - even when you're bleeding.
With Flow Intimates, I wanted to help change your experience of having your period - we've got your back and bottom. And welcome by the way, we're really glad you're here.
You don't deserve to compromise just because you're menstruating. Neither with your style nor your comfort ♥️

Our mission
🩸 You deserve safe and reliable products — free from PFAS and nanosilver. That’s why we regularly third-party test our panties.
🩸 You deserve alternatives to invasive products like tampons and cups. With period panties, your body can rest.
🩸 You deserve beautiful products with great attention to fit and detail. We all menstruate — and we create the products we’ve always dreamed of ourselves.
🩸 You deserve an honest and inclusive space — no filters, no fluff.
🩸 You deserve to be embraced and met with understanding when you menstruate. We're doing our part to break period shame and elevate menstruation for the powerful phenomenon it is. Without it, there would be no life on Earth.
Frequently asked questions about period panties
It's okay to ask questions. Here's everything you need to know about Flow Intimates and how to use period panties.
In general
Flow was created the very first day our founder got her period again after her second birth.
After several years of fertility treatment where menstruation has filled everything (it contains both disappointment and sadness - does the treatment work or not?), and then two births, she had not had her abdomen to herself since 2016. She needed to give her abdomen a break. No tampons, no menstrual cups. Free bleeding! But ... without stains on the clothes.
The solution: Menstrual panties. Ah, a relief! No more messing around down there. But she lacked the product she dreamed of. One that combines aesthetics (why settle for having your period?) and proper production conditions.
For decades, we have only been able to choose between pads and tampons filled with chemicals, dyes and perfumes and more.
Tampons which can actually be harmful to your health (have you heard of toxic shock syndrome, TSS), or which can disturb the natural bacterial flora in your vagina. Maybe you have given birth once or twice? (Or three or more – then you deserve a lifetime of use of our period panties!).
With our menstrual panties, you can bleed freely - without stains on your clothes.
Because you are helping to change not only the industry, which has been crying out for better options for decades, but also your own habits by choosing a reusable product over a disposable one.
You want to free your body and not insert anything into it.
You want to support your body to let its fluids flow (without stains).
You want to feel safe in the days leading up to your period, when you don't quite know when the bleeding will start.
You do not have the opportunity to use the usual menstrual articles, whether it is for physiological, allergic or psychological reasons.
The product
As a starting point, you must choose your normal size. If you fluctuate between two sizes, we recommend that you choose the larger size.
Make sure the panties fit close to the hip as they need to be able to hold the blood. If they are too loose, you can bleed on the side, but if they are too tight, they are not nice during your period.
Flow 1 and 2 as well as Flow Teen 1 are made for moderate bleeding, which means they can absorb the same amount of menstrual blood as 1-2 tampons.
Flow 3 is made for moderate+ bleeding and has our longest pads to date.
If you bleed heavily, you can use a menstrual cup together with our menstrual panties.
When you're ready to take them off (yes, we know - you just want to keep them on, they're so cute!), just rinse them in cold water until the water runs clear, then wash them with the rest of your clothes.
With the detergent we have today, you can easily wash them at 30 degrees to get them completely clean. This has also been determined by the Consumer Council Tænk.
If you can, choose an eco-labeled detergent, e.g. with the Nordic Ecolabel, to protect the environment.
Avoid using tumble dryers. It is not good for the environment and the absorbent layer will lose its absorbency more quickly.
Period panties are also the more environmentally friendly choice
Not only do we think period panties are the most comfortable option when you're bleeding — they’re also the more environmentally friendly choice when it comes to menstrual products.
There are several reasons why. We don’t use PFAS or nanosilver in our products, and our period panties are reusable, meaning you create significantly less waste compared to using pads or tampons.
