A new era of period care
Developed in Denmark - created by menstruators for menstruators.
Look forward to your next best cycle.
Founder story
How did Flow come about?
I started Flow Intimates three months after the birth of my daughter in 2021. That was the time my body needed to adjust from being pregnant to menstruating again.
But I was nowhere near ready, with my body leaking everywhere, or for old period products after a year and a half of fertility treatment. I searched for:
〰️ A non-invasive menstrual product to manage my period.
〰️ A reusable solution that kept me on the course I had set years earlier by saying goodbye to pads and tampons
〰️ A solution that was delicious for me. I was tired of the habit of pulling out the most worn-out panties from the drawer for my bleeding days - it didn't exactly make me feel better when I was bleeding.
〰️ Products for my cycle that I could feel safe with. No perfume, no chemicals, just softness for my lower abdomen and milky breasts.
What we are most proud of
5 good reasons why you'll love us
THE HEART ALWAYS COMES FIRST
We are also here to make bigger changes than just in your daily life.
Our founder changed Danish legislation in 2021 by having the age limit on frozen eggs removed.
In 2025, we created the Red Flag campaign, which ensured the Danish women's national handball team the right to wear dark shorts during the World Cup. And we will continue.
SAFETY AND SECURITY IMMEDIATELY AFTERWARDS
Despite a lack of legislation and safety requirements for menstrual products in the EU, we do not hesitate to take responsibility. We do not use PFAS, nanosilver – no magical "stay fresh" treatments on the absorbent layers. We third-party test our underwear for chemicals and use innovation without compromising your safety to solve odor issues.
PREMIUM PRODUCTION
We produce in Portugal, Denmark, Lithuania, and Turkey – and always with the best materials such as organic cotton, organic merino wool, and ECONYL®.
Our partners are the best in their respective fields, and several of our factories are GOTS-certified, which places demands on employee welfare.
BY MENSTRUATORS FOR MENSTRUATORS
We create products we need ourselves - and test them thoroughly (so yes, they are tested with real menstrual blood). In addition, we have a test panel consisting of hardcore and dedicated members from our community who take the task seriously.
MORE THAN MENSTRUATION
We know. It's about much more than menstruation. It's about a changing body - throughout the entire cycle, month after month.
That's why we are redefining what 'period products' are beyond a practical solution. The best-rated absorbent underwear, of course, but also care that supports you and your body throughout the entire cycle.
That is Flow Cycle Routine.

Always premium quality - never PFAS or nanosilver

Flow principles
Our first priority at the time was to find a supplier with a code of ethics we could support.
Our supplier in Turkey is GOTS certified, as is our Portuguese supplier.
The fact that our suppliers are certified to GOTS guarantees us independent certification of the entire supply chain.
When a supplier is certified, it means that there is a regulated minimum wage, no discrimination, a safe and hygienic working environment, decent and regulated working hours, the right to bargain collectively, and so on.
That we are discovering in the 2020s that our period products are filled with lead, perfumes, bleaches, PFAS, nanosilver and other unwanted chemicals and heavy metals is beyond us.
We do not use any chemical 'stay fresh' treatments in our underwear, and you can read more about the safety of our products here.
We only make products that we love and use ourselves. They must last through everyday use.
The world is full of poor quality, and the spiral is downward.
We insist on proper quality, and you can see this in the materials we use, such as organic cotton, organic merino wool, lyocell, Econyl.
🩸We will show you the reality you already know.
🩸We test our panties with real menstrual blood.
🩸If we show blood, we show you real menstrual blood from real menstruating women.
🩸We believe that you can do a lot, even when you're menstruating - but you don't have to.
🩸We want to create an embracing, knowledgeable and inclusive place where we tell things as they are.
🩸We will try to influence our surroundings to greater understanding and insight through a positive focus on what we want even more.

Flow is constantly doing small collaborations with other creative brands. Some collaborations will be more permanent, while others will be "here and now", so if you want to support them, you'll have to hurry.
It can be difficult to always be the smallest in an industry where it is often about volume and speed.
We have a small panel of skilled testers who help develop our products with us.
We are very grateful for the trust and time they give us. If you also want to test, please sign up.
Flow is not just an underwear brand. We are also a universe of knowledge about:
- Menstrual cycle
- Fertility
- Postpartum
- Perimenopause and transition
- Mental health and cycle
We believe that knowledge creates security - both of which we lacked in our childhood and youth.
That's why you'll find guides, articles and professionally verified content, always written at eye level - in our Flow Journal,
From the start, we have prioritized top of line suppliers - close to home. This means that we can drive our goods home instead of flying or sailing. This saves CO2 on transport.

Sore flow intimates - Danish five-tech brand
flow intimates is a Danish femtech brand that develops products for women throughout their lives – from the first period to menopause.
We believe that women's health deserves the same innovation, quality and attention as all other areas of health. That's why we develop products that combine function, comfort and thoughtful design, while working for more knowledge, greater transparency and fewer taboos.
Our mission can be summed up in six words:
From menarche to menopause.
Why was flow created?
flow It started with frustration.
Why were there so few good alternatives to pads and tampons? Why was women's health still treated as a niche when half the world's population menstruates? And why was it so hard to find products you could fully trust?
In 2021 we launched flow as one of the first Danish companies with a focus on period underwearSince then, we have grown into a universe that encompasses far more than period.
Today we develop products for period, postpartum, light urine leakage and everyday protection – always based on women's real needs.
We believe in better products
A good product shouldn't just work. It should feel right.
That's why we work with materials, fits and details that make a difference in everyday life. Our products are developed with a focus on comfort, durability and well-thought-out solutions, so they become a natural part of life - not something you have to struggle with.
We develop, among other things:
-
period underwear
-
period swimwear
-
Absorbent underwear for everyday use
-
Postpartum products
-
flow Care – care products developed for women's bodies throughout the entire cycle
We believe in transparency
Women have the right to know what the products they use close to their bodies contain.
That's why we work for greater transparency around materials, production and product development. We develop our absorbent products without PFAS and without added biocides like nanosilver and continuously share the research and knowledge that can help women make informed choices.
For us, transparency is not a trend. It is a fundamental value.
We believe in more knowledge and fewer taboos.
Products can make a difference. But so can knowledge.
Therefore, flow more than a webshop.
Through flow Journal we share articles about period, fertility, puberty, postpartum and women's health. We publish books, develop educational materials and engage in projects that work for greater transparency and better regulation of menstrual products.
We believe that better information leads to better choices.
Danish design – produced in Europe
We collaborate with specialized European manufacturers who share our focus on quality and responsible production.
By developing our products close to the domestic market, we can follow the process, set high standards for materials and continuously improve our collections.
We believe that quality is about the choices that are made long before the product is in the drawer at home.
Meet the people behind flow
flow was founded by Cathrine Widunok Wichmand, journalist, author and entrepreneur.
Today is flow has grown into a team that works every day to develop products and share knowledge that make a difference for women throughout their lives.
We are proud to have been among the first to introduce period underwear in Denmark, to collaborate with Matas, among others, and to be part of the growing movement that works for more focus on women's health.
We're only just beginning.
Women's health is still an area with enormous potential for innovation.
flow We are therefore continuously developing new products, sharing new knowledge and working towards greater transparency in the industry. At the same time, we are involved in initiatives such as The Period Project, working for better regulation and greater transparency around menstrual products in Europe.
We believe that small improvements in everyday life can create big changes over time.
And we look forward to continuing the journey with you.
