FAQ about menstrual swimwear
Can you bathe during menstruation?
Yes, you can bathe during your period.
Menstruation doesn't stop in water – it continues, even in the pool and the ocean. The only difference is that it is less visible and the blood's exit from the body is made a little more difficult by the pressure of the water.
If you want to feel safe without using a tampon, there are now swimwear with built-in protection that has been developed for just that purpose.
You've come to the right place, see the entire collection here.
How do menstrual swimwear work?
Menstrual swimwear is designed with a discreet, sewn-in panel at the bottom, consisting of several functional layers:
- A soft layer close to the body that directs the liquid down into the absorbent layer
- An absorbent core that holds back the bleeding
- A water-repellent, breathable membrane that helps minimize the risk of bleeding through.
Can you bathe without a tampon?
Yes! Tampons are not for everyone.
For light to moderate bleeding, menstrual swimwear with built-in absorption can be used alone.
If you bleed moderately to heavily, we recommend that you use the swimsuit in combination with a menstrual cup or disk for extra safety. Your menstrual swimsuit still has a membrane, which means you won't bleed through if there are small leaks from the disk/cup.
The most important thing is that you choose a solution that suits your flow and comfort level.

The making of our period swimwear
Our menstrual swimwear is sewn in Portugal from the most exclusive Italian materials.
We have prioritized using ECONYL® which feels light without compromising on strength and drying time, ensuring you can move freely and feel dry shortly after being in the water.
Who can use menstrual swimwear?
Swimwear with built-in protection is for all of us menstruating. But menstrual swimwear is often chosen by:
- People who do not want or cannot use tampons
- People with sensitive skin
- Teens and young people who have physiological difficulties using tampons, cups and disks.
- Women who want a more comfortable solution on vacation
For us, menstrual swimwear means freedom and safety in the water. No one should be forced to stay at the edge of the pool because they are on their period. Water play is fun and good exercise can even relieve discomfort during menstruation.

How do I care for my menstrual swimwear after use?
First of all, the pressure of the water against your lower body slows down the flow of blood leaving your body.
Next, our swimwear is designed with our innovative absorbent layer sewn into the bottom piece.
The top layer directs the blood into the absorbent layer, which traps the liquid, while our waterproof yet breathable membrane underneath prevents leaks while you swim or sunbathe.
